Armenia Increased Military Budget for 2019 by 15%
Baku / 14.12.18 / Turan: "In the next five years, the Armenian government intends to allocate an additional $ 2.5 billion to increase the combat capability of the country's Armed Forces," Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the first government meeting after the parliamentary elections.
Among the strategic goals of the government, he called the promotion of investment, the development of the military-industrial complex, increasing the combat capability of the army, etc., reports Radio Liberty.
According to the same source, the new government of Armenia has already sharply increased the military budget for 2019, bringing it to 530 million dollars. In 2018, this figure was at 468 million dollars.
Further, Pashinyan said that over 5 years $ 2.5 billion should be invested in the development of the armed forces. At the same time, he acknowledged that these funds have yet to be found.
