Ali Kerimli�s Complaint Rejected
Baku / 14.12.18 / Turan: The Baku Appeal Court considered the appeal of the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli. The complaint was rejected.
Thus, the Court upheld the decision of the Sabail District Court on awarding Kerimli a fine of 2,500 manat, the lawyer Fuad Agayev said.
Recall that on November 17, during a collective visit to the Alley of Martyrs, 52 people were detained on the National Revival Day, including the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli and the head of the National Council of Democratic Forces Jamil Hasanli. 41 people were released the same evening, but 11 activists were brought to trial on November 19. Of these, three were arrested for 20 days, and 8 more, including Ali Kerimli, were fined. -06D--

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
