Authorities Remembered Freedom of Assembly
Baku / 13.03.18 / Turan: On March 13, pro-government mass media published a large list of open and closed places in the cities and regions of Azerbaijan, allotted for meetings of citizens.
These 76 venues are allocated in accordance with the law "On Freedom of Assembly," the report said.
According to the same source, these venues are allocated for conducting pre-election campaigning during the presidential election.
Recall that before each election the authorities publish a similar list. However, representatives of the opposition argue that these places are inconvenient for holding meetings with voters.
Extraordinary elections of the Azerbaijani President will be held on April 11.
Currently, seven candidates are officially registered for the post of head of state: incumbent head of state Ilham Aliyev, MPs Zahid Oruj, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Araz Alizadeh, Faraj Guliyev, chairman of the party Modern Musavat Hafiz Hajiyev, and Razi Nurullayev, a breakaway from the Popular Front Party.
The pre-election campaign will start on March 19. -71D-
