Authorities Remembered Mamedemin Rasulzade
Azerbaijani authorities suddenly remembered about the merits of one of the founders and the leader of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan in 1918-1920, Mamedemin Rasulzade.
On November 22, President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree on the 130th anniversary of Rasulzade in January 2014.
It says that for the purposes of the 130th anniversary of “the outstanding political figure Mamedmin Rasulzade having great achievements in the realization of the ideal of independence of our nation, the revival of the national and state based on historical traditions of the Azerbaijani state, widespread dissemination of ideas of national independence and making by his political journalism worthy contribution to the history of our literary and social thought," the Ministry of Culture and tourism, in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences , Ministry of Education and other entities are to prepare and carry out the activities. The Cabinet of Ministers is commissioned to solve relevant issues.
Note that during such celebrations and on the respective dates of celebration the authorities usually create a state commission of members of the government. The commission meets regularly and reports to the Head of State. In this case, there is nothing like this.
If we consider that in Baku there is no monument to Rasulzade yet, and any reminders of him have been removed from streets and squares, and Rasulzade’s grave is still in Turkey, the real attitude of the authorities to this outstanding personality in the history of Azerbaijan becomes quite clear. -02D-
