Azerbaijani firefighters liquidated fire in Khankendi
Baku /27.09.23/Turan: Azerbaijani firefighters successfully extinguished a fire at a gas station in Khankendi, preventing a potential disaster.
The rapid and effective response of Azerbaijani firefighters was not limited to extinguishing the flames at the gas station. They immediately took measures to protect nearby areas, including protecting additional fuel tanks, ensuring that the fire would not spread to neighboring buildings.
The thorough assessment of the situation showed that the fire broke out in a group of spare fuel tanks, which created a significant risk of further escalation.
On September 25, a total of 15 fire brigades of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan were promptly dispatched to the scene of the incident.
Meanwhile, according to Armenian sources, the explosion that occurred at 22:00 on September 26 led to the confirmed death of 68 people, while 105 people are currently missing. The number of injured citizens is 290, and 168 of them have been taken to medical institutions in Armenia to date. Of these, 96 were airlifted by helicopters operated by Armenia and Russian peacekeepers, while 72 were transported by Armenian ambulances accompanied by personnel of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Armenian media pointedly remain silent about the laudable efforts of Azerbaijani firefighters and rescuers. Instead, their attention seems to be focused on the third anniversary of the beginning of the 44-day war, which ended with the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from the Armenian occupation. -0-
