Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry criticized comments by Jalina Porter
Baku/26.03.22/Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry responded to a comment by Deputy State Department Spokesperson Jalina Porter on the latest developments in Karabakh.
In particular, at a briefing the day before, Porter said that the U.S. is "deeply concerned" about the movement of Azerbaijani troops and called it "unnecessary escalation measures".
In this regard, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry noted with regret that during the nearly 30-year aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, the U.S. as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group has taken no effective steps to end the occupation.
Azerbaijan itself restored its territorial integrity on the basis of international law in keeping with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
At the same time, the Foreign Ministry pointed out that the concept of "Nagorno-Karabakh" does not exist any longer, and there are economic areas of East Zangezur and Karabakh which are an integral part of Azerbaijan.
"Such a statement by an official of the U.S. State Department based on falsification of Armenian propaganda is in itself an irresponsible behavior," the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan said in its press service comment.
To conclude, official Baku emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan acts on its sovereign territory. -06В-
