Azerbaijani letter on Armenia's war crimes circulated as UN document
Baku/21.05.21/Turan: The letter of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov regarding the massacre by Armenians in the village of Bashlibel of Kelbajar region on 3 April 1993 has been circulated as a UN General Assembly and Security Council document.
This was reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service on 21 May.
According to the report, the letter was prepared by Azerbaijan's General Prosecutor's Office on the basis of the preliminary results of the criminal case, which is currently underway.
In his letter, Ceyhun Bayramov noted that the relevant Azerbaijani authorities have additional information about war crimes committed by the Armenian Armed Forces, crimes against humanity.
According to the letter, 62 people who were unable to leave the village took shelter in natural caves in an area called "Portda", located in the highest part of the village, approximately 3 km from there. On 18 April 1993, Armenians reportedly found these places and deliberately killed 12 people, including one child and one teenager.
In his letter, the minister said Armenia still refuses to provide any information about more than 4,000 Azerbaijanis missing since the 1991-1994 war. -05D-
