Azerbaijani President meets Israeli Defense Minister
Baku/18.02.23/Turan: On February 17, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the Minister of Defense of the State of Israel, Yoav Galant, within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, the website of the head of state reports.
Aliyev stressed the friendly and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Israel which are successfully developing in various fields, including in the defense and military-technical spheres. He expressed confidence that the launch of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel in the near future would make an even greater contribution to the development of ties.
Minister Yoav Galant, for his part, conveyed to the head of state the greetings of the leadership of the State of Israel. He expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Israel.
Galant recalled with satisfaction his visit to Azerbaijan, and noted that the conditions created for the life of the Jewish community in the Guba region made a deep impression on him. The meeting part6icianst exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest. --06B--

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
