Judoist Zelim Kotsoyev has brought Azerbaijan its second gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. He won the Games in the 100kg weight category, defeating Georgian representative Ilia Sulamanidze in the final.
Earlier, on 29 July, another judoist Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) brought Azerbaijan its first gold medal.
Another medal for Azerbaijan was secured by Cuban Alfonso Dominguez of Cuba, who made it to the semi-finals of the boxing competition. His opponent in the semi-finals will be Spaniard Emmanuel Reyes Pla. The fight will take place on 4 August.

On September 1, 1,489 people applied to the district election commissions to nominate candidates for deputies in the early elections to the Milli Majlis. He intends to continue the hunger strike until the termination of his criminal prosecution, Ibrahimov's relatives told Turan.
