Baku/22.06.23/Turan: A trilateral agreement was also signed between "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC, "Kazakhstan Railways National Company" JSC and "Georgian Railways" JSC on the basic principles of establishing and operating a joint venture.
A memorandum on strategic cooperation on the transit of Kazakh oil through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and "KazMunayGas" JSC.
Memoranda on interdepartmental cooperation in the field of tourism, sports, and culture were also signed.
Besides, memorandums of cooperation were signed in the field of expanding transport cooperation and digitalization of the Middle Corridor and the supply of ships and railway locomotives.
Also signed is the action plan for implementation of the agreement between the Ministries of Labor of the two countries on cooperation in the field of labor, employment and social security of the population for the period from 2023 to 2024.
Note that a protocol of the meeting between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan was also signed.
It ought to be noted that earlier, on June 9, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said that in 2023, 1.125 million tons of Kazakh oil is expected to be pumped through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline by the end of the year. -06B-

On November 18, a single-person protest took place in the "Green Zone" at COP29. The protest was held by Ismail Djafarsoy, a technical staff member at the event. Djafarsoy claimed that the rights of over 500 workers were being violated, as they had not been paid their wages. According to him, workers hired for the month of November were promised a daily payment of 20 manats.
