Bakhtiyar Hajiyev Insists on Canceling Election Results throughout 29th Constituency
Baku / 19.02.20 / Turan: The Central Election Commission (CEC) examined the complaint by a candidate for deputy, public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, for violations in the 29th Sabail constituency. According to preliminary data, non-partisan candidate Nigar Arpadarai is leading in this district.
Hajiyev posted on his Facebook page numerous videos testifying to the falsification of the voting in favor of Arpadarai.
“The representative of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Ramiz Ibrahimov, invited me on February 17 in the evening and said that my protocols would be considered in the district election commission with me. However, on February 18, he stated that the protocols had been studied, and there was no need for my participation,” Hajiyev wrote on his Facebook page.
In turn, CEC member Ibrahimov said at a meeting on February 18 that the investigation was carried out according to protocols from 25 polling stations. However, documents from only 9 sites were the originals of the protocols. Ibrahimov believes that there are reasons for the cancellation of results in the areas: NN 1, 5, 9, 11, 17 and 25.
Hajiyev did not agree with this and presented additional evidence.
According to the results of the February 18 meeting, the Central Election Commission stated that the election results in the 29th Sabail constituency in polling stations Nos. 1, 5, 9, 11, 17, and 25 were declared invalid. –06D--
