Baku and Tehran evaluated benefits of opening communications in the region
Baku/23.12.21/Turan: On December 22, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian .
Recalling his recent meeting with Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi in Ashgabat, Aliyev noted that many issues related to further cooperation were discussed and Azerbaijani-Iranian friendly relations were once again confirmed. For his part, Abdullahian called the Ashgabat meeting "a turning point in the relations between the two countries.
During the conversation, the significance of continuing joint efforts to deepen cooperation in political, economic, energy, transport, humanitarian and other spheres was emphasized.
During the talks with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, the Ministers discussed the successful cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in economic, trade and humanitarian spheres.
Also, the sides exchanged views on the current situation in the region, the emergence of new realities and opportunities for post-conflict cooperation, including the future prospects of the 3 + 3 consultation mechanism, as well as the benefits of opening communications in the region and other topics.
The Ministers also discussed other issues of mutual interest.-0-
