Baku and Yerevan are finalizing the coordination of the route of the highway between the countries - Lavrov
Baku/09.06.22/Turan: The trilateral working group of vice-premiers is completing the coordination of the automobile route between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday in Yerevan.
"As you know, the railway route has been agreed, now the agreement on the road route and the regime to be established is being completed. The regime will be simplified, but it will be based on the recognition of the sovereignty of the Armenian territory," Lavrov said. According to him, the Armenian and Azerbaijani colleagues proceed exactly from this.
In turn, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the process is going on in a working atmosphere, the parties agree on many issues. In particular, they recognize that all roads remain and operate within the sovereignty of the countries in whose territory they are located. But there are many details on which the parties hold different positions. However, he is confident that mutually acceptable decisions will be made in the end.
Referring to the negotiations of the parties on a final solution to the conflict, Lavrov noted that the parties are moving towards unblocking communications in the region.
“There is no other way but the complete normalization of relations. The conditional peace treaty is based on the proposals of Azerbaijan, in response to which Armenia presented its vision.
In turn, Russia is ready to participate as a mediator and consultant, Lavrov summed up. --02D--
