Baku expects from Yerevan clear negotiating position
When Armenian troops attack, the Azerbaijani army retaliates, said the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov commenting escalation of tension in recent weeks on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.
Speaking on Tuesday at a press conference after talks with Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Franz Timmermans , he blamed Armenia for the worsening situation on the front.
According to Mammadyarov , every time if there is at least small progress in the negotiations, the situation on the front worsens. This means that troubles are caused for the negotiations, he said, and added that "negotiations must continued."
He said that discussions with the OSCE Minsk Group were held in Baku on 3 and 4 February.
"As I said after meetings in Kiev and Paris, and I say it now - we discuss specific issues . We specifically expressed co-chairs Azerbaijan's position. Tonight co-chairs will continue discussions in Yerevan.
If there is some result in Yerevan, if the Armenian side takes specific questions, there may be a meeting at the level of ministers and presidents. We want to achieve specificity progress in 2014," said Mammadyarov.
Asking the question from Turan whether to believe that Russia is interested in the aggravation of the situation at the front, Mammadyarov said that he had no such information.
"I have no information about any provocation on the part of Russia. Maybe they speak to each other in Russian. This language is spoken by many people in Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan," said Mammadyarov , commenting on the information of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry that the members of the Armenian sabotage group talked among themselves in Russian. -03B06-
