Washington D.C./04.10.23/Turan:  The Biden Administration on Tuesday expressed confidence in continued Ukraine aid despite Republican resistance in Congress and the removal of Kevin McCarthy, speaker of the U.S. Congress, from office, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.

President Joe Biden held a call with allies and partners to coordinate the support efforts of Ukraine. The call featured the leaders of Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Romania and the U.K., as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel and NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters that the world leaders discussed providing Kyiv with more weapons and how to protect its energy infrastructure.

“We have enough funding authorities to meet Ukraine’s battlefield needs for a bit longer but we need Congress to act to ensure there is no disruption in our support,” Kirby said,

According to the White House readout of the call, the leaders also discussed "ongoing work to align and broaden donor efforts to support Ukraine’s economic recovery, as well as to work together with the global community to address the energy, economic and food security challenges caused by Russia’s war of choice."
