Washington. D.C./Turan: U.S. President Joe Biden has arrived to Poland Monday night after his surprise visit to Kyiv, the White House informed reporters.

After he left the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Biden’s motorcade took him to the Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky railway station, where he departed Ukraine's capital.

Biden had arrived at the same station in the same morning after an approximately 10-hour train ride from Poland, according to a pool report.

For security reasons, Biden was accompanied all the way by two members of the White House press corps: print pooler Sabrina Siddiqui from the Wall Street Journal (the journal is known as right-leaning editorially) and Evan Vucci of AP, who pooled his photos.

Below is a timeline of the Biden's movements from Sunday into Monday according to a pool report:

— Arriving at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, at 2.15am on Sunday, phones were confiscated and not returned until arrival at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, more than 24 hours later.

— Air Force C-32 took off from Washington at 4.15am, local time. Prior to its surreptitious departure, the plane sat in the dark next to a hanger with the shades drawn and away from the tarmac where it is typically parked for presidential travel.

— At 5.13pm local time (Sunday), AF C-32 touched down at Ramstein Air Base in Germany in order to refuel after an approximately seven-hour flight.

— The plane remained with its shades down for the duration of its time on the ground, which lasted roughly an hour and 15 minutes, taking off again at 6.29pm local time, crucially after the sun had set.

— AF C-32  landed at Poland's Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport at 7.57pm local time on Sunday evening.

— Approximately 20 cars made up the president's motorcade, which began moving at 8.12pm local time, for a roughly one-hour drive along a fairly empty eastbound highway.

— It arrived at Przemyśl Główny train station at approximately 9.15pm local time. It was relatively quiet at this time of night with a handful of people milling about outside the station and the stalls seemingly all closed.

— Biden was dropped directly in front of his carriage on the eight-carriage sleeper train. A small group of passengers awaiting a separate train on the opposite side of the tracks were huddled in conversation and occasionally glanced over, but it was unclear if they could make out any of the activity unfolding before them.

— The sleeper train left Przemyśl Główny at 9.37pm local time and crossed the border into Ukraine at roughly 10.00pm. Much of the journey occurred in the dark and so there was little visible beyond streetlights and the shadows of buildings in the distance.

— It came to a stop at Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky station at roughly 8.00am local time. The area around the platform had been cleared and U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink awaited Biden and his staff in chilly outdoor conditions. Jake Sullivan and Jen O’Malley Dillon got off the train and were followed by Biden minutes later at 8:07 a.m. As mentioned earlier, the president’s first words after stepping off the train were: “It’s good to be back in Kyiv.”

As reported earlier, Biden's stops in Kyiv consisted of: Meeting with President Zelensky at Mariinsky Palace; Walkabout with Zelensky at St. Michael’s Cathedral; Stop at U.S. Embassy in Kyiv

Biden departed Kyiv by the same train just before 1:10 p.m.

AP’s Evan Vucci was able to capture some photos of Biden on the train out of Kyiv that will be pooled.
