Deadline Date of Signature Sheets for Registration of Presidential Candidates
On Monday at 18:00 deadline expired subscription lists to the CEC for registration of candidates for the post of head of state.
By this time the registered presidential candidates included the head of the party New Azerbaijan , the current president, Ilham Aliyev, the leader of the party Umid (Hope), MP Igbal Aghazadeh and self-promoted, MP Zahid Oruj.
In addition, subscription lists , with 40 thousand voter signatures were presented to the CEC by the candidate of the opposition National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) Jameel Hasanli, the head of the party Azadlig (Freedom) Ahmed Oruj, the leader of the Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu, the head of the Liberal Democratic Party, Fuad Aliyev, the head of the Citizens and Development Party, Ali Aliyev, the chairman of the Social Democratic Party Araz Alizadeh, the head of the United Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Gudret Hasanguliev, the head of the party Modern Musavat, Hafiz Hajiyev, the head of the party Movement of National Revival, Faraj Guliyev, the leader of the Justice Party, Ilyas Ismayilov and the head of the civil movement Republican Alternative ( REAL), Ilgar Mamedov.
Up to 16 September, the CEC should make a substantiated decision on registration or non-registration of these persons as candidates for the presidency.
The other seven candidates recused themselves or were unable to collect 40,000 signatures.
From September 16 the campaign begins, which will end at 8:00 on October 8.
