Eldar Namazov questioned in the prosecutor"s office
On August 29, Eldar Namazov, the leader of the EL political movement, the head office of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF), was questioned for four hours in the Serious Crimes Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan.
According to Namazov, his was summoned to the Attorney General due to inquiry conducted on the basis of Aflan Ibrahimov’s appeal, claiming that the El Movement and the National Council is preparing riots during the presidential election. Namazov called it fiction by Ibrahimov.
“However, such lies and slander will not stop our struggle,” said Namazov, and added he again was summoned to the prosecutor's office on Monday, September 2 at 11:00.
A week ago Aflan Ibrahimov, who presented himself as the deputy head of the El Movement, told the pro-government media and Eldar Namazov and Popular Front Party’s leader, Ali Kerimli, are preparing riots during the elections. In protest Ibrahimov allegedly left the EL Movement, and after that prosecutors quickly launched an investigation.
The EL Movement denied that Ibrahimov was a Deputy Head of the EL Movement, and deny his full membership in the organization.—06D--
