Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia discuss the opening of regional communications
Baku/27.04.22/Turan: Baku and Tbilisi are preparing 19 bilateral documents for signing, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a briefing on Wednesday.
According to him, the visit of Georgian Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili will give impetus to the development of regional and bilateral relations.
At the meeting with the Georgian Foreign Minister, regional processes were discussed, including the signing of a peace treaty with Armenia and the delimitation of the border between the two countries.
According to Bayramov, the "priority" is the opening of transport communications in the region and the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which is in the interests of all the countries of the South Caucasus. -02D-

On January 13, the trial in the case of public activist Nijat Ibrahim continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Aygun Gurbanova. The trial was suspended after Ibrahim, in protest against the illegal arrest, began banging his head against the "aquarium cage", trying to commit suicide. The International Committee of Concerned Scholars (ICS) has appealed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, requesting his assistance in securing the release of the arrested researcher, Igbal Abilov. The ICS expressed concern that Abilov's arrest "may be related to his research on ethnic minorities in Azerbaijan, conducted in collaboration with scholars from Armenia."
