French presidential candidate included in the blacklist of unwanted persons
Baku/23.12.21/Turan: On December 23, Charge d'Affaires of France in Azerbaijan was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country. He was handed a note of protest in connection with the illegal visit on December 22 to the city of Khankendi of Azerbaijan by the President of the Ile-de-France region, the candidate from the Republican Party in the presidential elections in France Valerie Pecrez.
"This visit of Valerie Pecrez, accompanied by other French politicians within the framework of her election campaign, is directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and is a violation of the country's national legislation," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expressed a strong protest against the actions of French citizens who seriously violated the requirements of the relevant laws of Azerbaijan. This damages bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France, as well as France's authority in the region, the role that it can play in the normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations.
The names of French citizens who illegally visited the territory of Azerbaijan are included in the list of undesirable persons who are prohibited from entering Azerbaijan. — 06D-
