Hajili against the establishment faction of "Musavat"
On October 3, Arif Hajili, the head of the party "Musavat", first press conference as head of the opposition party. First he spoke on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, and noted the need to put an end to the "politics of simulation." Regarding ongoing trial of the Karabakh separatists over the Azerbaijani hostages, Hajili said " it is not a court, it is a farce."
Then Hajili raised the issue of political prisoners and said that "Musavat" demands the immediate release of all activists, journalists and bloggers. He also expressed his attitude to the results of the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, describing them as a "victory of supporters of European integration."
Hajili said that in the near future "Musavat" will highlight the issue of European integration in Azerbaijan too.
Regarding intra-party issues, he said that the recent congress of "Musavat" was an example of conducting genuine democratic elections. He noted that in the near future new leaders will be appointed in the party structures, and leadership "Musavat" will be fully renewed.
"Musavat" intends to take steps to consolidate the opposition forces and the establishment of allied relations with other parties, including the PPFA. Regarding the idea of creation faction in the "Musavat" party by the members that disagree congress decision, Hajili said that the party's constitution does not provide for the creation of factions.
"If someone wants to start factional activities, they will lose credibility among party members, " warned Hajili the opponents inside the "Musavat".
Supporters economist Gubad Ibadoglu, who was the second at the Congress in the elections of the head of the party with little difference of voices, are for the creation of factions in the parties.-05D-
