Hearings in the Council of Europe on the case of Mehman Huseynov
Strasbourg / 01/21/19 / Turan: "We are extremely concerned about the blogger Mehman Huseynov in Azerbaijan. We are closely following his case and call on the authorities to release him immediately and unconditionally. We also call for the release of all other political prisoners immediately," announced on Monday during the plenary session of the Council of Europe by the rapporteur of the PACE Monitoring Committee Stephan Schönnach.
Today, PACE held hearings on the case of Mehman Huseynov with the participation of Shennach and its participants condemned official Baku for persecuting dissidents, violating the rights and freedoms of citizens. They called on the authorities to fulfill their obligations to the Council of Europe and finally solve the problem of political prisoners.
The discussion participant, the blogger"s brother Emin Huseynov, told Turan that the authorities should put an end to the repression against their own citizens. -02B-
