Baku/18.22/Turan: Last night, protesting demonstrators set fire to the house-museum of the founders of the Islamic revolution in Iran, Imam Khomeini, near Tehran. How badly the building was damaged is unknown.
Anti-government demonstrations have not stopped in Iran for the third month now. Hundreds of people have died during clashes between protesters and police. Among those killed in recent days was a nine-year-old boy. A wave of indignation rose in Iran after the death of a woman detained by police for allegedly violating the rules for wearing a headscarf.
In an attempt to end the mass demonstrations, the authorities have already sentenced several demonstrators to capital punishment. Authorities reportedly arrested 1,500 protesters. -0-

Afghan Sadygov, the head of the Azerbaijani website Azel.TV, who was arrested in Georgia at the request of Baku, ended his dry hunger strike on February 6, which he had started on February 2.
