The head of the Rise party was banned from leaving Azerbaijan
Baku/18.11.22/Turan: Anar Asadli, chairman of the Azerbaijan Rise Party, was banned from leaving the country. On November 18, he was unable to leave for Ankara.
At the border control of Baku Asadli Airport, it was stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs had imposed a ban on his exit from Azerbaijan. He himself told Turan about this.
In turn, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told Turan that there really was a decision to ban Asadli from leaving the country.
“He is being investigated based on complaints from two citizens. They told the police that he (Anar Asadli) had fraudulently embezzled their money in the amount of $150,000 and $10,000,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
However, Asadli said that these allegations were unfounded.
“If I embezzled money, then where is the criminal case, the court decision? This is a political order related to our party activities,” Asadli said.
He noted that in the coming days he would make a lengthy statement about the motives for pressure on him.
The Rise party was created after the 2020 parliamentary elections, in which Asadli ran for deputies and, at the end of the voting, declared their falsification. The party was registered in 2021.—21B6-
