I. Aliyev rejected materials from "Pandora's Dossier"
Baku/13.10.21/Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev rejected materials from “Pandora's Dossier” about corruption. In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, he said that there is only 5% of the truth in these materials. He noted that after being elected president, he transferred his business to his family.
"I have been president for 18 years. Before that, I was a successful entrepreneur. When I was elected president, I was not a poor man. After becoming president, I stopped direct participation in business and transferred my business to my family," he said.
Aliyev said his children continue to do business. "They have investments mainly in Azerbaijan and beyond. Their business activities are transparent, they are being audited at the international level, and no one can say that something is wrong," he said.
On October3, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalism (ICIJ) published excerpts from about 11.9 million documents on offshore accounts of a number of world leaders, called "Pandora's Dossier". Regarding the head of Azerbaijan, they say about buying real estate abroad for $ 700 million. -02D-
