Ilham Aliyev Congratulated Donald Trump
Baku / 04.07.20 / Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory message to the President of the United States of America Donald Trump on the occasion of the National Holiday - National Independence Day.
“Between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America there have been successful cooperation relations for about 30 years. During these years, American companies played an important role in the development of the energy sector, information and communication technologies and other important areas in our country. At the same time, our countries have established exemplary cooperation in the field of strengthening international security and the fight against terrorism. I’m sure that through joint efforts the relations of friendship and partnership between Azerbaijan and the USA will expand further,” the message says.
Aliyev further hopes that the United States, as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group, will increase efforts aimed at a just settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on UN Security Council resolutions, principles of the Helsinki Final Act, within the framework of territorial integrity, sovereignty and the inviolability of the borders of Azerbaijan. ”
Touching on the global pandemic COVID-19, Aliyev emphasizes that “in such a difficult time, the Azerbaijani people are in solidarity with the American people.” - 06D-

On January 15, the Yasamal District Court rejected the motion to change the detention measure for Azer Gasymly, the director of the Institute of Political Management, his lawyer, Agyl Laidj, to Turan. "Azer Gasymly stated during the trial that the charges against him were fabricated and related to his socio-political activities," the lawyer said. An appeal will be filed against the court's decision.
