Ilham Aliyev Congratulates Angela Merkel
Baku / 26.09.17 / Turan: The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory message to the Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on the occasion of the victory of her CDU / CSU alliance in the parliamentary elections in Germany.
Aliyev expressed a hope the parties will continue to make joint efforts to further strengthen and expand friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, develop political, economic and humanitarian ties and successfully continue the mutually beneficial cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
At the parliamentary elections in Germany held last Sunday, the CDU / CSU alliance gained about 33 percent of the vote, which allows Merkel to re-form the government, in all likelihood, in a coalition with the Green and the Free Democrats. -06D--
