Ilham Aliyev: High Level of Political Relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia
Baku / 04.11.18 / Turan: There is a high level of political ties between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia. Baku and Riyadh successfully cooperate in various fields and support each other in the framework of international organizations.
This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayif Al Saud on November 4.
In Azerbaijan, with a feeling of deep gratitude, they perceive the fair position of Saudi Arabia on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the website of the head of state quotes Aliyev.
The President stressed that Azerbaijanis are well aware that Saudi Arabia does not maintain any ties with Yerevan due to the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, which, in turn, is a clear indication of friendship and brotherhood between Baku and Riyadh.
Aliyev expressed confidence in the implementation of broad measures aimed at increasing the volume of trade and investment between Baku and Riyadh in the coming years.
The head of state also noted the greatly increased flow of tourists from Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan. He stressed the presence of a good level of bilateral cooperation in the field of security, Aliyev expressed confidence that this visit would contribute to the development of relations, including between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries.
In turn, the head of the Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia stressed that Azerbaijan is a brotherly state and a strategic partner for Riyadh. Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayif Al Saud noted the importance of the agreement on security cooperation signed between the two Ministries of Internal Affairs in February of this year.
He conveyed to Aliyev greetings of the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The President of Azerbaijan also conveyed greetings to the King and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayif Al Saud also met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov.
During the meeting, the current state and priority areas of cooperation in the field of security were discussed, and an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest was held, AZERTAG reports. -06d--
