Ilham Aliyev is happy with the development of relations with the European Union and the United States
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the development of Baku’s relations with the European Union and the United States. Speaking yesterday at a cabinet meeting Aliyev said that in the first quarter of this year a high-ranking official of the European Commission visited Azerbaijan - two of its vice-presidents. "Energy, political and economic, security issues, and others were discussed. Last year Azerbaijan President of the European Commission visited Azerbaijan. We are currently working on a new format of cooperation," Aliyev said.
He also expressed his satisfaction with his invitation to the Washington Nuclear Security Summit. "If to take into account that Azerbaijan is not a nuclear power, in Azerbaijan there is no nuclear power, the nuclear industry as not developed, then the invitation of Azerbaijan to this prestigious event is a manifestation of respect for us by the government, the US president, and reflects our role in the region. It is also noted that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in the prevention of illicit traffic of nuclear materials," Aliyev said.
According to the President of Azerbaijan, during the visit to the US he had "very good, fruitful and sincere conversations, talks with the political leadership of the United States." "These negotiations once again show that the connection between us is very important for both sides. We are working together in many areas, these connections open up new possibilities for both sides. The main issues on the agenda here are both political ties and cooperation in the field of energy, security, trade, economic issues," said Aliyev.-0-
