Ilham Aliyev receives credentials of the new Ambassador of the United States
On Monday the President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar.
The diplomat said that since 1995, he has visited Azerbaijan more than once, and met with the former and current presidents of the country.
In turn, Aliyev said that he was glad to see Richard Morningstar in Azerbaijan. Stressing the successful development of bilateral relations, Aliyev expressed appreciation for the contribution to the rapprochement of relations over the past 20 years, as well as to the economic development of Azerbaijan.
Ilham Aliyev praised the support of the USA and the personal role of Richard Morningstar in the project of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, and other energy projects. The President expressed confidence that in the period of Morningstar’s diplomatic activity in Azerbaijan, the relationship between the two countries will develop successfully, the website of the President of Azerbaijan.–06D--

On November 13, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Afghan Taliban held talks in Baku as part of the COP29 conference. According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.
