President Ilham Aliyev has received today the Ambassador of Germany to Azerbaijan, Herbert Quelle, due to completion of his diplomatic mission.
The meeting noted the intense nature of bilateral relations and expressed confidence that they will continue to evolve, the website of the president reported .
Lately official Baku openly expressed dissatisfaction with the government of Germany. The reason for this was the negative press coverage of Germany on corruption and human rights violations in Azerbaijan.
Representatives of official Baku are convinced that behind all of this there is a deliberate policy of the government. As "evidence" were cited critical speeches of Ombudsman of Germany and a number of deputies. -02D-

Arrested economist Fazil Gasimov has reportedly faced pressure after protesting the interruption of a phone call with his family on November 16. "The phone call was cut off, and Fazil demanded that the connection be restored. Then, Jalal Alizadeh, a detention center officer, along with his colleagues, forcibly removed Fazil from the phone room in the medical unit of the facility, tearing his jacket and dragging him across the floor before throwing him into a cell.
