The meeting of the head of the European Parliament Antonio with President Ilham Aliyev scheduled 14:00 in Baku was canceled at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side. According to the report on the website of the European Union, Aliyev refused to speak with Tajani because of the debates today in the European Parliament on human rights violations in Azerbaijan. Such demonstrative behavior indicates that Baku does not want to listen to criticism on these issues. The debate will be attended by two former political prisoners - Emin Milli and Hadija Ismailova, as well as five members of the European Parliament, who will raise the issue of violating the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens in Azerbaijan. Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly accused the European Parliament in the anti-Azerbaijani position and cooperation with the enemies of Azerbaijan.
