Ilham Aliyev's Trip to Neftchala and Salyan Districts
Baku / 24.09.17 / Turan: On Sunday, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made a trip to Neftchala and Salyan districts in the south of the country, where he took part in the opening ceremonies of a number of socio-economic infrastructure facilities.
In particular, with the participation of the head of state, a Neftchala industrial quarter was opened, where nine enterprises and one small business workshop were created. Investments in the amount of 45.3 million manat were invested in the creation of these production sites. In the industrial quarter, 474 permanent jobs have been created.
One of the largest enterprises in the quarter is the joint automobile plant of JSC Azermash - Iran Khodro. The annual production capacity of the joint Azeri-Iranian enterprise is 10,000 cars per year. The company Iran Khodro owns a 25% interest in the company. The factory will produce cars of such models as Runna, Samand, Soren, Dena, Peugeot-206, Peugeot-207, Renault-Tondar, and Renault-Pickup.
The Neftchala enterprise for the production of fish food was also opened here. LLC Metak created an enterprise in the Neftchala industrial district to produce plastic containers. LLC Gilan PIVOT opened a manufacture of means for the round irrigation system. LLC Togrul-2008 established the production of polyethylene pipes for irrigation. LLC Providence Limited is implementing a project to assemble school buildings of a modular type. Azproduct LLC is profiled on processing and canning fish.
Aliyev got acquainted with the conditions created in Neftchala Central District Hospital after reconstruction. The President took part in the opening of a 110/35/6-kilovolt substation in Neftchala. Aliyev also participated in the opening of a 110/35/10-kilovolt substation Garagashli in the neighboring Salyan region.
The President's arrival was timed with the commissioning of the Chukhanli-Ganjali-Piratman-Parcha-Khaladge-Seyidan highway in the Salyan region.
In Salyan the President also got acquainted with the activity of the sea water desalination complex in the Khidirly village of the Salyan region. -06D--

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
