Interior Ministry has not confirmed reports of investigation into former MP
Baku/24.06.23/Turan: Former Milli Majlis MP, businessman Nazim Beydemirli commented on the reports in social networks and media about the investigation by law enforcement agencies into his involvement in the organization of protests in the village of Seyudlu.
"For two days various rumours have been spread mentioning my name due to the events in the village of Seyudlu, Gedabey region. And now there is "news" about beating out testimony against me from the arrested in Seyudlu by torture in the main department for fighting organized crime (IM)". "Based on the fact that this 'news' worries my relatives, friends, my family members I ask (law enforcement agencies) to clarify on this matter," Beydemirli wrote on Facebook.
Responding to Turan's enquiry about Beydemirli's post, head of the IM press service department Elshad Hajiyev said that "the investigation into the incident in Seyudlu village continues" and "there are no worrisome issues here.
As for the allegations that some detainees are getting evidence against Beydemirli, Hajiyev called it "the personal judgment of the person saying that." -06D-
