23 January Thursday 12 .00 will be presented a list of "prisoners of conscience " and political prisoners in Azerbaijan in January 2014 , prepared by the Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD).
The presentation is scheduled to inform :
- The implementation of commitments by Azerbaijan to release political prisoners, taken when joining the Council of Europe ,
- About the work of the rapporteurs of the PACE,
- About the court hearings on the " prisoners of conscience" and the scheduled sentencing, the press office of the IPD said.
The presentation will be held in the office of IPD at 8 Talaat Shikhaliyev Street.

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
