Iranian Azerbaijanis deprived of office
The National Liberation Front of South Azerbaijan (NLFSA) and the Coordinating Council of the World Azerbaijanis have been deprived of their office in Baku. It is housed in the building of the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) at 8 Istiglaliyyet Street.
As the leader of NLFSA Sabri Tabrizi told Turan, ANAS explained this with ‘it is required for our own needs’.
"This office was provided to us by the late President Heydar Aliyev in 2001. He was the Chairman of the Coordination Council of World Azerbaijanis. We believe that we have had the office taken away under pressure from Iran," said Tabrizi.
According to him, the Iranians could require it during the forthcoming visit of the head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev to Tehran.
Previously, on March 30 at the initiative of NLFSA Baku hosted a conference entitled "Tomorrow of Modern South Azerbaijan", which caused an extremely negative reaction from the Iranian authorities.
The main strategy of NLFSA is to achieve the independence of South Azerbaijan. -03B06-
