Islamazeri.com Editor Released on Parole

 

Yesterday in connection with the completion of half of his prison term, the editor of the online publication islamazeri.com Ramin Bayramov was released on parole.
 
Recall that Ramin Bayramov, the Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Party Arif Ganiyev and the head of the religious group Jafari Heyat Abgyul Suleymanov were arrested on 11 August 2011.
 
Then DHS accused them of "hostile activity against Azerbaijan, aiding a foreign state and its representatives, as well as incitement to riot, breach of public security and civil disobedience."
 
However, later Bayramov and Ganiyev were sentenced to 1.5 years in prison
for illegal possession of drugs. Ganiyev was released on parole two months ago.
 
However Abgyul Suleymanov was sentenced to 11 years in prison for illegal possession of weapons, drugs and inciting ethnic hatred on August 10, 2012.
