Islamic Party is led by Ilham Aliyev
The Board of the Islamic Party held a regular meeting on Thursday, and adopted the resignation of Acting head of the Party Elchin Manafov. He held this post since January 2011, after the arrest of party leader Movsum Samedov, charged with preparing an armed seizure of power and violent change of regime, and was sentenced to 12 years.
According to one of the participants of the meeting, over the years Manafov did a lot to consolidate the party, for which he was thanked.
Then a member of the Board elected Ilham Aliyev, first deputy chairman of the Islamic Party, an acting head of the party. -05D-
