"Islamic State" prepares terrorist attacks against police in Azerbaijan, Turkish intelligence
Terrorist group "Islamic State" began to use a new route for transporting suicide bombers to Europe from Syria. This route lies through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Cyprus, Turkish Milliyet newspaper reported, citing intelligence sources.
According to the newspaper, the "Islamic State" also instructed its underground in Azerbaijan and in the North Caucasus the preparation of terrorist attacks using suicide in Azerbaijan, against the police and their families. Relevant warning was made by the Chief of Security in Turkey in June. Turkish security services have warned of the preparation by the “Islamic State” the attacks on military, police and Kurdish public figures in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir.
The Turkish authorities are taking currently increased security measures in the country after the attack at the Ataturk airport in Istanbul. -02D-
