Lachin road is not closed, but temporarily blocked due to investigative measures - official
Baku/24.06.23/Turan: Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan arrived in Lachyn region today. The diplomats are accompanied by assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev.
More than 60 diplomats and military attaches from 33 countries are participating in the trip.
As a part of the visit to the Lachyn region, foreign diplomats arrived at the bridge between Armenia and Azerbaijan, where the Lachin border and customs checkpoint is located. The diplomats were informed that an Azerbaijani border guard was wounded here on June 15 by a shot from the territory of Armenia.
Foreign diplomats were also told that before this armed provocation, residents of Armenian origin living in Khankendi freely used this checkpoint. At present, conditions are being created for medical evacuation crossings with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the state news agency AZERTAC said in a statement.
In other words, the road is not closed, as some circles claim. It's just that temporary investigative measures are being carried out due to the next provocation of Armenia, the said message emphasizes.
It was brought to the attention of foreign diplomats that "the Armenian side is using the current situation at the border and customs checkpoint as a propaganda tool." "Some European politicians also come and stand on the other side of the bridge and share one-sided information that does not reflect the truth," the message emphasizes.
It ought to be noted that on June 23, a number of Azerbaijani and Armenian media published videos about the complete closure of the highway by the Azerbaijani side by installing concrete blocks on the border. -06-
