In the video message of the new ambassador, it is said that he is looking forward to being active as the 11th ambassador of the USA to Azerbaijan.
"As a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service, my previous assignments were in Poland, Cyprus, the Bahamas, and Iraq at the European Union Mission in Brussels. I also worked in Washington, D.C. for many years. I am originally from New England in the North East of the United States," the ambassador noted.
Mark Libby emphasized that the US Embassy supports Azerbaijan in 1991, after gaining independence.
"During these past 32 years, we have witnessed amazing changes.
I hope that while we are in this region, we will work together for a lasting and dignified peace, we will see the further development of Azerbaijan and the continuation of its even more important role in the region and the world.
During my time here, Baku I had a chance to walk around, see its magnificent places, the historic Old City, the beautiful modern architecture of the Heydar Aliyev Center. I wish to get to know these places more closely, see more places and taste national dishes. I have already tasted delicious Azerbaijani dolma and pilaf. Please Please advise me of other delicious Azerbaijani dishes. I am waiting for your suggestions to get to know Azerbaijan better," the ambassador said.-03-
