Mehriban Aliyeva will lead the Organizing Committee of the Islamic Games
In accordance with the order of the President, the Organizing Committee for the Fourth Islamic Solidarity Games has been created; it will be led by the president’s wife, Mehriban Aliyeva. She will be assisted by: Mayor of Baku, as well as the Ministers: Sports and Youth, Foreign Affairs, Economic Development, Finance, Internal Affairs, National Security, Transportation, Health Care, Culture, Communication, and Education. The Organizing Committee also includes senior officials of the presidential administration and the National Olympic Committee.
The Islamic Games will be held in Baku in 2017 with participation of the representatives of Muslim countries.
Earlier, First Lady headed the organizing committee of the European Games, which were held in Baku in June 2015.-02D-

The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the deaths of two people during the recent floods in Baku, Baku Mayor Eldar Azizov said commenting on the consequences of the flooding of tunnels in the capital during the heavy rains on October 22 to journalists. According to him, the sewer system could not handle the large volume of floodwater, which led to the drowning of two people in a tunnel in the Sabunchu district of Baku. The floods revealed vulnerabilities in Baku's water infrastructure.
