Member States Should Raise Issue of Human Rights in Azerbaijan - EU Commissioner
«The pressure we have on Azerbaijan is not so great. However, this does not mean we refuse of any impact on Azerbaijan." This was stated by EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn, speaking at the forum of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on May 28, reports Radio Azadlyg.
He acknowledged that the EU representatives raise these issues before President Aliyev and other Azerbaijani officials, but the parties have a difference of opinion.
"But I must say that the representatives of some EU states are very high level politicians who never raised these issues at bilateral meetings. This question is monitored only by the European Union. I call on Member States, in particular those who have never done it, to raise these issues, using their political authority," said the European Commissioner. -16D-
