Morningstar: I have always been a friend of Azerbaijan
U.S. continues its support for the implementation of important regional projects, such as the Southern Energy Corridor. This support continues from the beginning of the 90s, said in an interview with journalists, U.S. Ambassador Richard Morningstar.
" Confirmation of these words is the message of President Obama to the participants of the international exhibition Caspian Oil and Gas,which refers to the support by Washington of energy projects in Azerbaijan," said the ambassador.
Morningstar said that now the leading American companies involved in the development of the largest Caspian oilfield ACG and gas field Shah Deniz plan to participate in future gas projects.
On Turan’s question on the officials’ allegations about Morningstar's interference in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, the ambassador said that he remains at the opinion expressed in the famous radio interview with Azadlig.
"Anyone can read the text of my interview at the embassy and make sure it is balanced and fair," he said.
He concluded: "US -Azerbaijani relations remain strong and I have always been a friend of Azerbaijan. I have a very good relationship with the government and with people outside the government." – 03B-
