Moscow Attaches Importance to Cooperation in Security Field with Baku - Patrushev
Baku / 30.09.17 / Turan: Cooperation between Baku and Moscow was discussed on Saturday at a meeting of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.
"Together with the Azerbaijani side we are revealing new challenges and methods of counteraction to them within the framework of bilateral cooperation," the Azerbaijani President's website quoted Patrushev, as saying.
He noted the successful cooperation between Baku and Moscow in the field of security. "We attach great importance to cooperation through the Security Council, and our ties in this area are developing very constructively. We are grateful to our Azerbaijani friends for participating in the events held at multilateral levels, and we are interested in this," Patrushev said.
In his turn, President Aliyev noted the successful development of Azerbaijani-Russian relations in the spheres of politics, economy, security, etc., and underscored expansion of the trade and economic cooperation and the good dynamics of export-import operations.
The President noted the traditionally close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the sphere of security, stressing that in the period of growing threats in the world and the region, the importance of close contacts between Baku and Moscow is growing.
Aliyev expressed his confidence that Patrushev's visit would serve to further expand cooperation in the field of security.
At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on issues of mutual interest. -06D--

The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
