N. Mammadov Receives Acwa Power Delegation
Baku / 08.31.19 / Turan: On August 30, Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov received a delegation of the Saudi company Acwa Power.
According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Chairman of the Board of Acwa Power Mohammad Abunayan informed about the activities of the company specializing in renewable energy and water projects.
He also said that a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and Acwa Power on March 17 this year.
In turn, Novruz Mammadov noted that the development of alternative energy is one of the priority areas for the country and Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with international companies in the field of electricity production.
According to http://www.ibcentre.tech, in June of this year ACWA Power sold 49% of the shares of its offspring in the field of renewable energy ACWA Power Renewable Energy Holding Ltd to the state-run Chinese Silk Road Foundation.
The company is a shareholder in various clean projects in the Middle East and Africa, which together account for 1,668 MW of generating capacity. These are photo-voltaic stations, and stations concentrating solar energy, and wind assets.
The Silk Road Foundation is the government organization responsible for investing in improving infrastructure along the historic Silk Road from China through Asia to southern Europe and Africa.--02D--

Adalyat Verdiyev, the head of the civil defense staff at the public legal entity Center for Public Health and Reform under the Ministry of Health, and a military expert, has been arrested. On November 22, during a media tour to the liberated territories, Verdiyev filmed and published information and images on his social media accounts revealing Azerbaijani Armed Forces' combat positions in the heights, deployment sites, coordinates, and operational conditions of the border troops.
