Baku / 08.12.17 / Turan: The US Embassy in Azerbaijan organized a visit by NASA astronaut, Space Shuttle crew member Heide Piperin to Baku on December 10-12. The embassy reports that on December 10 the astronaut will visit the American Center in Kurdamir. On December 11, she will speak at the National Defense College, the National Academy of Sciences, visit a number of universities and hold at the Baku American Center. The first American astronaut visited Baku in 1975. It was Tomas Petten Stafford, commander of the space expedition to the moon "Apollon 10" and "Soyuz-Apollon". -03D-

From 19 to 26 July, 24 automatic rifles, 1 machine gun, 9 rifles, 28 grenades, 441 shells, 3118 cartridges of different calibre and other ammunition were found in Khankendi, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported. During the mentioned period, the police found 1 machine gun, 50 grenades, 7 fuses, 3 shells and 320 cartridges of different calibre in Shusha.

President Ilham Aliyev has approved by decree the Azerbaijan-Kazakh intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in military intelligence defense sector. The document was signed in Baku on 7 June 2024.
