OSCE Mission Meets Civil Society Activists
Baku / 20.12.19 / Turan: Members of the OSCE / ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission in Baku in connection with the upcoming February 9 early elections in the Milli Majlis met on Friday with representatives of civil society in Azerbaijan.
This was reported to Turan by the head of the Democratic Initiatives Institute Akif Gurbanov, who attended the meeting.
According to him, during the meeting they discussed the election situation, the activities of election commissions, and the problems of election legislation and practice.
“We held discussions on how the election environment corresponds to democratic standards. The mission will prepare a report on the outcome of the visit next week,” said Gurbanov. —21B-
