Pardon actually does affect political prisoners
On May 26 Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Pardon affected 157 people, but among them is only one political prisoner, Faramaz Allahverdiyev, and blogger Dashgin Melikov, and human rights activist Bakhtiyar Mammadov.
Thus, the authorities again ignored numerous complaints of human rights activists and international organizations to release political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. Their total number, according to various estimates, is from a few dozen to 130 people. -16D04-
