Presidents Aliyev and Radev discussed promotion of Azerbaijani gas to Europe
Baku/11.03.23/Turan: On March 11 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a video conference with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, who arrived in Baku.
The reason for the meeting via video conference was the positive test for COVID-19 among the members of the Bulgarian delegation, the press service of the Azerbaijani President said.
Rumen Radev arrived in Baku to participate in the X-th Global Forum.
Welcoming the Bulgarian President, Aliyev expressed satisfaction with cooperation in the energy sector and deepening relations in other areas.
In his response Radev said that after the recent visit of Ilham Aliyev to Sofia the bilateral relations are developing not only in the field of energy.
Owing to the commissioning of the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, the Azerbaijani gas flows uninterruptedly to Bulgaria.
"We are ready to go further. You know our initiative 'Solidarity Ring'. However, the main thing, of course, is Azerbaijan. We are ready to transport additional volumes of Azeri gas by joining the possibilities and efforts of the gas pipeline operators in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia. From now on, the decision is yours," Radev said.
He pointed out that the interconnector between Bulgaria and Serbia was launched on February 1 and there is an opportunity to transport Azerbaijani gas further to Europe.
Then the sides discussed cooperation in energy, transport, gas supply, agriculture and other areas.
Rumen Radev invited Aliyev to pay an official visit to his country. -0-
